State Chess Tournament
On Monday 27 October, five of our talented students, Ewin, Samara, Corey, Ephraim and Mhairi, represented East Devonport Primary School at the State Chess Tournament, hosted by Black Square Chess at Scotch Oakburn College in Launceston.
After winning the regional tournament, the team earned their place in the State Championship, which was the biggest chess tournament in Tasmania’s history. They competed against some of the best young players from across the state.
It was a fantastic day filled with strategy, concentration and teamwork. Each student gave their best effort, showing great sportsmanship and determination throughout.
We are very proud of this group for representing our school with pride and positivity.
